Theresa Bagnato Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Theresa “Terry” Bagnato announces on October 30, 2021, at age 92, her heart, so full of love, took its final beat. Born to the late Nicholas and Rose Spano on June 28, 1929 in Imperial, PA. Beloved wife of Joseph Bagnato for 65 years until his passing in 2015, adored by her children Joseph Bagnato and Janet (Joe) Farkas, and cherished grandmother to Joseph Farkas Jr, Jason Farkas, Joe Bagnato Jr, Pamela Watson, and Lewis Bagnato. Also preceded in death by her dear sister Kay Romano. A resident of Carnegie most of her life, Terry was a member of Holy Souls Parish, St. Elizabeth Anne Seton and Saint Raphael the Arch Angel. Terry and Joe moved to South Fayette 27 years ago to be near their daughter and her family. In her early years Terry attended business school and worked at Bell Telephone in Carnegie, met and married the love of her life in 1949, and became the most devoted wife, mother, and homemaker any family could have. Terry had the true heart of a volunteer starting in her youth as a member of the Sodality at Holy Souls, then the Christian Mothers, always cooking for church functions and donating her time wherever needed. When her children were growing up she devoted herself to their education and the PTA, serving proudly as president for many years. Everyone knew you could always count on Terry. Later in life she became a longtime volunteer at St. Clair Hospital, a place that gave her such pleasure helping others and where she had so many caring friends, and where she took her final breath.  She was so proud of her Italian heritage, amazing everyone with her culinary talents, always preparing the most delicious Italian dishes and desserts. Nothing brought her more happiness than cooking, especially for those she loved. She also enjoyed her flowers and herb garden, knitting her famous Afghans and scarves, puzzles, coloring, and singing.  Terry had the most beautiful voice, singing solos in the choir while attending Carnegie HS and in the church choir, as their May Queen, and now singing with the choir of angels.  She traveled extensively over the years with her husband Joe and her family. Terry and Joe enjoyed their many trips out west to Las Vegas, Phoenix, and California. After her husband passed away, she continued to enjoy traveling with her daughter Jan and her family. Terry’s warmth and compassion can never be replaced.  She was a shining light in all our lives. You always felt her love and knew how very special you were to her. Her family is extremely grateful to all her caring friends and neighbors, and the dedicated staff at St. Clair Hospital and Providence Point. "We know how very blessed we were to have had such a beautiful person in our lives for so many wonderful years. Now the most beautiful guardian angel will be watching over us. Those we love always remain with us, you'll always be in our hearts Nunny, we'll love you forever..." Donations can be made in her name to St. Clair Hospital. In honor of Terry’s wishes, visitation and sevices will be private, arrangements made by Bagnato Funeral Home, Carnegie, PA.
