Sylvia Krieger Obituary

Sylvia “Sue” Lorraine (Hutchison) Krieger, 87, of Rennerdale passed away peacefully at her home on February 15, 2024.

She was born September 1, 1936 to David and Margaret (Kovacs) Hutchison. On September 26, 1959, she married William J. (Beetles) Krieger and together they have three children: Bill (Little Beetle)(Jill) Krieger, DJ (Tara) Krieger, of Washington, PA, and Kalynn Krieger Lavella of Cecil.

She was the tough but loving grandma and mummum to Shanna (Sean) Krieger-Bungo, Alisa Jones, David (Alyssa) Krieger, Kendell (Jake) Lavella, Jordan Krieger, Luc Lavella, Erica Lavella, Kacie Lavella and great grandchildren Aria Krieger and Ollie Z Jones, as well as many furbabies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ronald Hutchison, and sister Helen Jean McKnight.

She had a servant heart and that was obvious by her 38 years as the Treasurer of Rennerdale United Presbyterian Church, 50 years as a cafe/playground aide for Chartiers Valley School District, working the election polls, and her work as an LPN at Kane Hospital in her early years. Her work at the Hallmark Store enabled her generous spirit of gift giving. Sue’s philanthropic contributions were preferred to be unrecognized and unnoticed.

Sue loved to travel with her girlfriends and visited 49 out of 50 states along with the state capitals and a lighthouse in all 49 states. She also loved to read Nicholas Sparks books and sit on the beach.

Anyone that knew her can’t look at a red bird or a lighthouse without thinking of Sue.

She was always present at all of the grandkids sporting events and was a die-hard Pittsburgh Sports team fan.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life service on Monday, February 19, 2024 at 12:30pm at Rennerdale United Presbyterian Church, with a luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Sue’s name to the Rennerdale United Presbyterian Church.
