On Thursday, March 4, 2021; of Scott Twp. beloved wife of 62 years of the late William J. Kane, Sr; Shirley was born to the late Dorothy (Samuel) Myers and Gilbert Kent in Cresson, PA on June 14, 1929. She is survived by sons Bill (Cindy), Kevin (Sally), Tim (Tracy Zange) and Rick (the late Lisa). Grandmother of Ian (Emily), Zak (Rachel Dudley), Samantha (CJ Moore), Jessica (Tim) McMurray, Caitlyn (Chuck) Turowski, Patrick (Jessica), Connor (Grace McCann), Nick, Meghan, Jordan Zange (Nicole Detorakis), Jacqueline Owens (Tom Paxton), Taylor Timmons (Jeremy Carter), Jordan Timmons and the late Kayleigh and Abigail Kane, Great-grandmother of Genevieve, Freya, and William Beckett Kane and Virginia and Finnegan McMurray. Sister to the late Duane Kent (Jeanne). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley spent her working life as a telephone operator (the only job she ever wanted) starting with Bell Telephone Company before moving on to Montefiore Hospital, then Singer, Dean & Scribner and later Butcher & Singer, where she made many lifelong friends. Mom was an avid bingo player before her vision loss but was most happy in her kitchen cooking meals for the family or baking tasty treats, especially her homemade lasagna and fruitcakes. Friends received at the Bagnato Funeral Home, Jefferson St, Carnegie Sunday 2-4 6-8 PM. Funeral mass in Our Lady of Grace Church Monday 10 AM.
