Robert Kenneth Volk, 89, of Scott Twp., PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 16, 1936, and was a cherished son to the late Jacob and Ester (Nonnenberg) Volk. Bob was a devoted and loving husband to Margaret Rose (Capurso), who preceded him in death in 2007.
Bob was very proud of his time in the Army's 101st Airborne Division. He boasted about his 32 jumps out of airplanes and talked about his time spent in Germany and France. He was a hard-working mechanic in which he retired from M & M Auto Service. He enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, tinkering with cars, and a good cup of coffee. He was most proud of his three grandchildren, Gabriella, Annalisa and Angelo, and bragged about their accomplishments to everyone he would meet.
He is survived by his three children, Vincent (Jami) Volk, Gary Volk, and Lisa (Dino) Mariano; sisters Martha (Jerry) Kane, Selma (David) Lindsay, and Homer (Lynn) Volk; preceded him in death are his brothers John (Clara) Volk and David Volk. He will be dearly missed by his numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by Marlene Colville, who shared his life and companionship in recent years.
The family would like to thank the staff of AHN Allegheny General Hospital for their wonderful care and support for our father. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Bob’s nurse, Shelly Bucur, for her exceptional care, kindness, love, and support throughout her time with our father.
