Kovanis

Nina M (Loniero)

Passed away on Wednesday November 18, 2015 at home, after a struggle with cancer, of Carnegie; age 65 Nina was a beloved teacher at Crafton Elementary school, retiring in 2013 after many years of doing what she loved to do, surrounded by coworkers that became a second family to her. She also loved the beach and would go as often as she could, though she hardly got her toes wet! The hot sand and cool breezes were enough. Nina was happy to be a grandma to John, mom to Marisa and Jimmy, and most especially wife to Jim. She will be missed by so many. Preceding her in death are her parents Lillian (Bonfili) and John Loniero, and baby sister Maria Loniero, niece Toni Loniero and nephew Joseph Loniero. She is survived by husband Jim Kovanis, daughter Marisa (Kovanis) and Mark Di Bello, son Jimmy Kovanis, grandson John Di Bello, siblings Joan Pandolph, Anthony (Kay) Loniero, Eugene (Joan) Loniero, Lisa (Zane) Miles, 16 nieces and nephews, and many cousins. Friends received at the Bagnato Funeral Home, Jefferson St., Carnegie, Sat 6-8 PM Sun 2-4 6-8 PM. Funeral mass in St Elizabeth Ann Seton church Mon 10 AM In Lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Wounded Warrior Project to donate go to WoundedWarriorProject.org
