Mary (Sgro) Schepis

After a very short illness Mary Schepis, a life long resident of Carnegie Pa, passed away on April 30th, 2022 at the age of 102.

She was the devoted and loving wife of the late Dominic J. Schepis. She was the daughter of Frank and Grace Sgro from San Pier Niceto, Sicily.

She is survived by her sons; Peter (& Janice), Frank ( & Pam), Jim ( & Maria), seven grandchildren; Karie ( & Brett Varner) , Christopher, Stephen, Michael, Brett, Mareesa ( & Brad Williams ) and Jordan, and three great grandchildren; Kate, Luke and Keegan.

As a woman business owner in her 20’s, she was ahead of her time. She is the original owner of Mary Kay Beauty Salon in Carnegie Pa, which she sold over 70 years ago, and is still in business to this day.

She was known by her family and friends as an outstanding cook specializing in a variety of wonderful Italian dishes.

She was a devout catholic and a life long active member of Holy Souls Catholic Church and its successors.

Mary lived a beautiful long life and leaves a legacy of strong faith, love and caring. Her final days were spent with family and praying for others.

Mary is reposing at the Bagnato Funeral Home, Jefferson St., Carnegie Tuesday 2-4 6-8 PM. Funeral mass in St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church Wednesday 10 AM
