Margaret

Margaret “Marcy” (Musico) Spezza, 103, passed away January 29, 2021. She was a long time resident of East Carnegie, PA before moving to Concordia of the South Hills in 2017.

Born to Salvatore and Pauline Musico, she had two brothers, the late Samuel Musico and the late James Musico. She is survived by her sister Pauline (Honey) Mussill.  Margaret was married to Guy Edward Spezza who preceded her in death in 2008.

Margaret graduated from Langley High School and was class valedictorian.  She was a long time member of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America - Fidelity Lodge.  Living in a three generation household, she had a strong dedication to her family. She was an expert seamstress; creating wedding gowns, business attire, crafting home décor and also alterations, which allowed her to work out of her home. She and her sister Honey also made assorted chocolates for the Holidays in the home, to the delight of their loyal customers.

Known to many for her generosity, Margaret received great joy in helping family and friends. She was a talented baker and in the tradition of the “Pittsburgh Cookie Table” baked dozens of delicious cookies for every wedding and social event.

Margaret is survived by her loving son Mark Edward (Diane) Spezza, two daughters Marcella and Paula, grandchildren Mia, Alora, and Adam; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to give special thanks to Margaret’s nieces, Mary Louise, Lorraine, April, Paula, Pearl, Linda and Michelle, and friends; Barbara, Marty and Carmie for keeping Aunt Marcy’s spirits up with visits and home cooked meals, laughs and chocolate.  To Bobbi, Jim, Jill, Heather, and Helena at Concordia:  “Thanks for the care and special friendship you gave to Margaret.”

Due to Corona virus the family chose not to have a public service. Thank you for your prayers and messages.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Fisher House Foundation. Fisher House Foundation is a charity and foundation that builds comfort homes where military and veteran’s families can stay free of charge while a loved one is in the hospital. https://fisherhouse.org/ways-to-give/.
