M. Kathleen Sgro passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, at the age of 75. Kathy was a devoted and loving mother, Gigi, sister, and friend. She was the daughter of Joseph and Beverly Sgro of Beechview. She is survived by her daughter, Corinne Caputo (Jamie); her son, Nicholas Christian "Nicky" Garlitz (Carly); and five grandchildren: Abigail Grace Caputo, James Anthony Caputo, Olivia Jane Caputo, Behr Lewis Garlitz, and Rose Lorraine Garlitz. Gigi cherished all the quality time she was able to spend with her grandchildren. Whether it was teaching Abby, Jac, and Olivia how to make her special pasta sauce with homemade meatballs or sitting down to hold her grandbabies, Behr and Rosie, Kathy soaked up every moment with them.Kathy is also survived by Laurel McGuinness (Bob), Annette Dunn (late Denis), the late JoAnn Sgro, Beverly Sgro, Donis Vennare (late Alfred), and Lucine Dabecco (Daniel) as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and great-nieces. Kathy is mourned by countless friends and family members whom she helped guide and advise through her card readings and life experiences, always sharing her strong opinions. She was well known for her exceptional cooking skills and chocolate chip cookies, which enhanced many family events and gatherings. Kathy leaves behind a legacy of love and selflessness, which she instilled in her children and grandchildren. She will forever be missed by all who knew her.
