James P. Zehnacker (Jim), 77, originally of East Carnegie. PA peacefully passed away Monday October 28th, 2024 at home surrounded by family.  Devoted husband of 54 years, Father, Father-In-Law, Brother, and Uncle. Born August 12th, 1947 to the late Joseph (Paul) and Cecilia Zehnacker.  Survived by his wife Marianne (Minky). Sister Barbara (late husband Harold) Mersing. Sons Rick (wife Tina), Mark (wife Lisa Zynosky). Grandchildren Richard, Marine Lance Corporal Noah Zynosky-Zehnacker (wife Sage), Megahn Howard (husband Brandon) and the late Nathanial Zynosky-Zehnacker. Great-grandson Leland Howard.  Uncle to Robert, Michael, Christopher, and Timothy Sparbanie, David and Kristen Mersing, Brian Mersing, and the late Donald and Shawn Mersing.

Jim retired from the Port Authority of Allegheny County in 1997.  His hobbies included playing guitar, sketching, and wood carving.  Over the years, Jim and wife Marianne spent their winters at their Florida residence and summers at their camp in Plantation Park, Mercer County, PA.

Jim, aka “Pap” loved spending his summers at camp entertaining grandson Richard and “adopted” grandson Nick Daley for many years.  While there, they could always count on pap to provided endless jokes and typical grandfather humor.  There were endless memories made at their Mercer County Camp with both family and friends.

Jim was one of a kind, a loving father, grandfather, father-in-law and most importantly a devoted husband to his wife Marianne.  Jim’s humor, wit, and love for his family will be greatly missed and cherished.
