Harry W. “Smitty”

On Monday December 3, 2012; beloved husband of 60 years to Patricia Gordon Smith; father of Edward (Sharon), Harry “Bill”, Robert (Deb), Michael (Florence) & Daniel (Debbie) Smith, Kelly Rohbeck (RJ), Lori Dedola (Dave) & Richard (Renee) Smith; brother of Patricia Arbuckle & the late Marvin, Bill, & Dick Smith & Betty Arbuckle; also 25 grandchildren & 12 gr. grandchildren. Friends received at the Bagnato Funeral Home, Jefferson St, Carnegie Thurs. 2-8 PM. Funeral mass in St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church Fri 10:30 AM. Harry was a Korean War veteran, after his service to his country he started with the Carnegie police department in 1957 as a patrolman. In 1966 he became the captain of the department, and then in 1976 he became the police chief until his retirement in 1987. After his retirement he became the deputy director of the Allegheny County Police academy until 1997. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to American Diabetes Association
