Our beloved mother, Gina Marie Raspanti, age 76, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025, in Pittsburgh, PA after a lengthy battle with frontotemporal dementia.
Gina was born in Avellino, Italy to Anna & Dominic Padalino and immigrated to the U.S. as a young child. She grew up in Carnegie, PA and attended Youngstown State University to study art. She had a fulfilling career working in retail management and sales for over 30 years before her retirement in 2011.
She was a loving, fun, compassionate, and kind person who was deeply devoted to her family, enjoyed having a good time, and was always making those around her laugh. She was a strong person who faced life’s challenges with positivity, courage, and dignity. Her zest for finding joy and fun in life was an inspiration. Her legacy will live on in the memory of those she touched.
Gina was a devoted mother to her children, Matthew Jones & Heather Jones, her daughter-in-law Danielle Jones, and to her grandchildren, Madisson, Bailee, & Christian. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Carl Raspanti, as well as her mother and father, and brothers-in-law Tom Gorman and Chuck Hankle, Sr. She was a loving daughter, sister (Clara Gorman & Pia Hankle), aunt, and friend.
Gina’s family will hold a private burial service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in honor of Gina to fund research for FTD at The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration at https://www.theaftd.org/get-involved/ways-to-give/.
