Frank C. Shimatzki “Mousie”, 79, of Carnegie passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 25, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on September 17, 1944, in the North Side of Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John Shimatzki and Margaret Shimatzki (Horvat).
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 52 years, Ann T. Shimatzki (Raco); his children Lisa Shimatzki Miller and husband Matt, Lynn Readal (Shimatzki) and husband Matthew, and son John Shimatzki and wife Tara. His Grandchildren; Caiden, Ryleigh, Sophie, Madeline and Graham. His late brother, Stephen Shimatzki and wife Kathy and sisters Joann Cain (Shimatzki) and husband Don and Margaret Harvey (Shimatzki) and many nieces and nephews.
From Fitter at the steel-mill making I-beams for the World Trade Center Twin Towers to foreman at the Carnegie Borough where he worked for more than 25 years, Frank had many roles over the years. Husband, Dad, Coach, score keeper, truck driver, voter poll worker, a member of the Knights of Columbus and volunteer at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton food pantry to name a few, but his favorite was Pappy. Some of his grand children’s favorite memories include building puzzles, trips to Scoops on Main, feeding the ducks at Rennerdale pond and sneaky trips to McDonalds.
Viewing times will be held at Bagnato’s Funeral Home (50 Jefferson Street, Carnegie, PA 15106) Tuesday February 27, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00. Funeral service will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Wednesday at 10:00 am.
