On Friday November 23, 2018, beloved husband of Loretta Simeoni McDermott and loving father of Terry Cooper (Jeff), Timmy (Geralyn), Tommy (Dana) McDermott, and Tina Walsh (Paul); grandfather of Cassidy, Jeffery, Connor, Casey, Mitchell, Taylor, Shayleigh and Sean; brother of the late William McDermott (Patricia); brother-in-law of Lucy Simeoni and deceased cognato Eddy Simeoni (June), and countless beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and associates here and abroad.
Born September 18, 1934, on Iberia Street, Mt. Washington, Frank attended St. Justins and, after enlisting in the USAF and serving on Guam during the Korean War, was blessed to marry his beloved Loretta “Rosy” Simeoni. The two built their home and helped to raise theirs and about 36 other kids on tightly knit Cherrytree Road, in Scott Township. A self-made entrepreneur at heart, after earning his GED and then Bachelor’s degree at the University of Pittsburgh, and serving as Pitt’s Personnel Manager, Frank earned his living for a half century helping others find their life’s work practicing as one of this region’s finest personnel recruiters with his beloved lifelong friends at Robert Beech & Assoc., Personnel Department, Inc., Sales Search, and Frank McDermott & Associates. . Friends received at the Bagnato Funeral Home, Jefferson St. Carnegie Mon 6-8 PM Tues 2-4 6-8 PM. Funeral mass in Our Lady of Grace church Wed 11 AM.
