Mikolajcik
Estay (Laurenzi)
Passed away peacefully at Country Meadows Memory Care facility in South Fayette Twp. on Monday June 8, 2020, which she called her home over the last 5 ½ years. Born and raised in Carnegie, PA, the daughter of the late Luigi and Anita Laurenzi; sister of the late Eva Laurenzi, preceded in death by her beloved husband Chester T. Mikolajcik. She is survived by her loving daughters Aleta (Roberto) Mascio, Andrea (Charles) Chiatto and granddaughters Mia and Carli Chiatto and brother Louis Laurenzi. Having been widowed at a young age, Estay managed to find many part time jobs while her girls were growing up in Greentree Borough, eventually landing a job at Duquesne University in the Purchasing and Admissions departments. Retired in 1998, she spent some of her time taking day trips and going to the Civic light Operas and movies with her friends. Her bright and cheerful disposition and her sometimes quirky remarks brought joy and laughter to those around her. The memory of her unique personality, expressed through those dark brown eyes, is unforgettable, and remembered by all those who knew her. It was not uncommon to hear her cheerfully singing with her beautiful soprano voice. Her favorite time of year was spring and she enjoyed feeding the birds and the squirrels. The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to all the Country Meadows administrative and general staff who provided so much loving care and support during her long stay. Special thanks to Becky and terry of Bridges Hospice over the last six months for their additional help, love, support and comfort care provided to her. Friends received at the Bagnato Funeral Home, Jefferson St, Carnegie Friday 1-5 PM Funeral service Saturday 10 AM. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions in Estay name to Country Meadows Co-Worker Foundation 830 Cherry Drive, Hershey, PA 17033
