Daniel F. Hoover, age 77, of Carnegie passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on May 13, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Dan was born on March 18, 1948, in Pittsburgh, to Roy and Martha Hoover. He graduated from Canevin High School in 1966 and went on to proudly serve in the United States Air Force for 23 years. Captain Dan began his service fighting for his country in Vietnam and rounded out his years as an Air Traffic Controller. Dan's military service allowed for his family to see the world before retiring and bringing his family back to his roots in Crafton, PA.
Dan married his beloved wife, Maureen (Donohue), in 1972. Together, they raised two sons, Corey and Ryan, who were the pride and joy of his life. Dan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and son. He enjoyed golf, spending time with his sons and grandchildren, family vacations, and happy hours on his dad's porch.
Dan is survived by his wife Maureen, his sons Corey (Raquel) and Ryan (Linda), and his six grandchildren, Sidney, Brynn, Cole, Aubree, Ashlyn and Alyvia. He is also survived by his father, Roy F. Hoover and siblings Terry Harper, Kathy O’Connor, Nancy (Bud) Ross, and Bud (Kim) Hoover, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha, and his sister, JoEllen.
