Althea M Volk

Althea M. Volk, 65 of McDonald, PA, unexpectedly on Sunday, April 9, 2023. Daughter of Bonnie and the late Frederick Volk of Carnegie, PA. Sister to Frederick (Ceclia), Clyde (Sheree), John, Timothy (former Nancy), Thomas (late Mary), Nancy (Robert) Gorny, Patrick (Wendy) and Amy (John) Dailey. She will also be remembered fondly by her many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Althea devoted her life to the care of others and will always be carried in the hearts of her patients. She was a graduate of Carlynton High School and later Sewickley Hospital School of Nursing. She focused her career on gerontology, first at Woodville State Hospital and then South Hills Home Health Agency, later UPMC Home Health. She loved collecting, and sharing her knowledge of all things, especially Mother Earth and nature. She was an avid photographer, and took time to make sure family events were documented and will be shared with future generations. A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday April 19, 2023 in St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church of St Raphael the Archangel parish
